Learning Disabilities Support

Every child can learn — they just need the right approach. Specialist support for dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, and other learning challenges.

About This Service

What are Learning Disabilities?

Learning disabilities are neurological differences that affect how the brain processes information — making certain aspects of reading, writing, maths, or organisation more difficult. They are not a reflection of intelligence. Many highly intelligent, creative, and successful people have learning disabilities.

"A learning disability is not a barrier to success — it is simply a different way of thinking. Our role is to find the approach that works for your child's brain."

At Little Wings, our Learning Disabilities Support programme provides structured, evidence-based academic and cognitive support using multi-sensory teaching methods. We work closely with schools, teachers, and families to ensure consistent support across all environments.

Outcomes

Benefits of LD Support

1
Academic Progress

Children make measurable gains in reading, writing, or maths — often surprising themselves.

2
Restored Self-Esteem

Understanding why they struggle — and having it addressed — is transformative for a child's confidence.

3
Better Study Skills

Children develop compensatory strategies and study tools that work for their unique brain.

4
School Accommodations

We help families and schools put appropriate accommodations in place — extended time, assistive technology, modified assessments.

5
Reduced Anxiety

Academic difficulty causes significant anxiety in children. Targeted support reduces this burden enormously.

6
Long-Term Tools

Children leave with strategies, self-awareness, and confidence that serve them throughout their education.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a learning disability diagnosed?+
Through a comprehensive psychoeducational assessment — covering cognitive ability, academic achievement, processing, and memory. We offer this assessment at our centre.
My child's teacher says they're 'lazy'. Could it be a learning disability?+
Often what looks like laziness is actually a learning disability — the child is working much harder than their peers but not achieving the same results. A proper assessment can clarify this.
Will my child always have a learning disability?+
Learning disabilities are lifelong neurological differences. However, with the right support, strategies, and accommodations, children can achieve at the highest levels. Many highly successful people have dyslexia or ADHD.
Can you help with school accommodation letters?+
Yes. We provide formal reports that can be submitted to schools for accommodation requests — including extended time, reader/scribe support, and assistive technology permissions.
How long until we see improvement?+
Most children show measurable reading/academic progress within 3–6 months of consistent, specialised support. The pace varies by child, starting level, and frequency of sessions.
